CIAL – Centro de Linguas

All levels, all year long! Start or continue your Portuguese language studies in a communicative way, taking advantage of the school’s wide range of social activities.

Enjoy a group class in the morning and 2 extra lessons in the afternoon. The topics in the workshop range from conversation, vocabulary exercises, grammar practice, presentations and role plays to other activities that students choose in the classroom.

Design your own programme! Available for all dates as long as you want. Classes are scheduled according to student demands and may include specific professional and cultural topics.

Combine a group class in the morning with personalised classes in the afternoon. Ideal solution for those who wish to work more to improve their oral skills, to examine work done in the morning or to work in a specific professional field.

Group lessons in the morning and surf lessons in the afternoon. Each surf lesson includes transportation, board, combination, insurance and a whole afternoon on the beach. Classes are scheduled locally based on weather and sea conditions. Lessons can also be scheduled on weekends.

Combine a general language course with a full-time, unpaid professional internship at a company in Lisbon.
During the first weeks of the program, the student will develop his / her Portuguese skills, with the possibility of completing the B1 level, or higher.
During the second part of the program, the participant will be placed in a company, responding as much as possible to the preferences and abilities of the students.

Includes a group class in the morning and the number of hours the student wishes to devote to a volunteer project in the afternoon and / or weekend.
The programs will last at least 4 weeks and the language requirements will depend on the host institution.
There is no placement fee.

Living in a Portuguese house will help the student to become familiar with the language. Students are placed in single rooms and will be the only native speaker of their language in the house.

The homes that host CIAL students are in the neighborhood of the schools, often within walking distance.

In shared apartments in Lisbon and Faro, students can choose to stay in single or shared rooms and enjoy more independent accommodation, ideal for longer stays.

The apartments are fully equipped, with cable TV and wifi. The bathroom, kitchen and living room are shared with other CIAL students.

In both cities, schools are within walking distance.

In July and August, the school offers a student residence in Lisbon only. A modern and independent residence offering high quality single rooms with shared bathroom, just 10 minutes walk from the school. Excellent location, in one of the most prestigious areas of Lisbon, with excellent shops, restaurants and bars nearby.

CIAL has special rates in hotels in the schools sector in Lisbon and Faro.

In addition, the Portuguese hostels are ranked among the best in the world. For example, 5 of the top 10 youth hostels in the world are in Portugal.
