Our student Léa spent 2 months in New Zealand for her language stay at our partner school in Nelson. Find out more about Léa’s experience and her recommendations for discovering this beautiful New Zealand city.
Our partner school Nelson English Centre is located east of Tasman Bay, on New Zealand’s South Island. We asked Léa for some recommendations for discovering the city.
“Nelson is a small town on a human scale, and I loved the square in the city center and the few botanical parks. There’s a wide choice of restaurants at affordable prices. I really liked Founders Heritage Park, where there are often events. And of course, there’s the Saturday Market. On foot or by bike, there’s Tahunanui Beach, which is really not far away and well worth a visit.”
Many students choose Auckland, the capital of New Zealand, for their language studies. Léa, gives us a few good reasons to choose Nelson for your future language stay.
“I chose Nelson because New Zealand’s landscapes appealed to me, and I’d heard a lot of good things about the friendliness of the locals and the safety of the country. Having seen it for myself, I could only agree that it was true. I had the chance to travel a bit during my language stay and I’m going back with my film camera full and my head full of memories. I was also really impressed by New Zealand’s vegetation. The New Zealanders, or Kiwis, are very kind and take the time to try to understand us: the civic-mindedness and courtesy of the people left a lasting impression on me!”
If you’d like to learn English in New Zealand, we suggest two schools: Nelson English Centre and Languages International in Auckland. For more information on these schools, please don’t hesitate to contact us. We’ll be delighted to help you plan your studies abroad.
